Man held for shooting of Jason Johnson

Police investigating the murder of 24 year old Jason Johnson have arrested a teenager in connection with the incident.

Dale Ebanks, 19, of Crane Court, Gurnell Grove, Hanwell, appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court on Saturday morning and is being held in remand until his case is heard at the Old Bailey.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at about 2050 on Friday 21st November to a man shot in an alleyway off Cavendish Avenue, W13. Mr. Johnson of Cheyne Walk W7, who was a father of a three year old boy, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was killed by gunshot wounds to the chest

DI Dan Smith from Operation Trident said, "We know that a man rang police at 20.37 on Friday 21st November from the Gurnell Leisure Centre and reported he had seen three men acting suspiciously. We have not been able to contact that man since he called 999 and we are very keen to speak to him.

"Just before Jason was shot, there was a couple walking a dog along the pathway that leads from Hathaway Gardens to Gurnell Grove, past the school. We are very keen to speak to them as they may have vital evidence."
