Stabbing at Local School

Cardinal Wiseman closed after serious incident

A fifteen year old boy was stabbed on 6th November outside the grounds of Cardinal Wiseman school in Greenford.

The incident occurred at around 4.10pm after the school had closed. The emergency services arrived to find the boy with severe stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where his condition was described as serious although not life-threatening as was originally feared. A statement on the school web site says that he is making good progress and a return to full health is anticipated.

An arts festival was due to take place at the school on the evening of the incident but that was cancelled. The school have denied that the incident had anything to do with inter-school rivalry.

A police officer had been assigned to the school to increase pupil safety but it is understood that he was dealing with another incident at the time of the attack.

Reportedly the boy had been attacked before and his family claim that his attacker was not arrested despite ample evidence against him. Police say that although a previous incident had been reported the complaint was withdrawn.

Officers from Ealing CID are investigating. A 16 year old youth from Southall has been arrested and he remains in custody.
