New Dispersal Zone for West Ealing


Powers given to eject trouble makers from Walpole Park

A new dispersal zone has been instituted in Walpole Park which allows the police to remove people acting in an anti-social manner from the area.

The move follows instances of intimidation and harassment towards members of the public in the area.

The zone applies to the locality of Walpole Park W13 and the surrounding area :The Broadway West Ealing from the junction of Coldershaw Rd to the junction of Northfield Ave, Canberra Rd, Leeland Terrace, Leeland Rd, Tawny Close, Seaford Rd, Sherwood Close, Bowmans Close, Northfield Ave from the junction of Seaford Rd to the junction of Uxbridge Rd, Mattock Lane, and Walpole Park. Also to include all paths, alleys, grassed areas, service roads and communal stairwells and staircases.

It applies from the 12th August 2008 to 11th February 2009.

A Constable / PCSO may give one or more of the following directions:

 Tell people in the group to leave the area (either immediately or at a stated time and in a stated way).

 Tell people who don’t live in the area to leave (either immediately or at a stated time and in a stated way).

 Tell people who don’t live in the area not to return to the area or any part of it for such period (not exceeding 24 hours) from when the direction was given, as he / she may specify.

If you are under 16 you are not allowed to be here between the hours of 9pm and 6am unless you are under the effective control of a parent or responsible person over the age of 18. You may be removed to your home or place of safety if more appropriate.

To remain or return to this area having been told to leave is an offence under Section 32 of the Anti-social Behaviour Act 2003, punishable by 3 months imprisonment and / or a fine not exceeding £2500.
