Council Flies the Flag

Leader is 'thrilled and proud' to raise it

Ealing's Council Leader has raised the England flag over the Town Hall where it will stay as long as the team remain in the World Cup tournament.

It should act as some consolation for council workers after the recent upset caused by contractors May Gurney who told bin-men that they weren't allowed flags on their lorries.

Councillor Julian Bell said:

"Events like the World Cup are great because they really bring people together.  As a huge England fan I was thrilled and proud to raise the flag over the Town Hall and I wish the team every success."
