CW+, the official charity of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, has launched its 2025 Christmas appeal with a powerful message of hope and gratitude from a long-term patient at West Middlesex University Hospital.

The appeal centres on Linda, a local resident who has faced cancer three times over the past decade. Diagnosed twice with breast cancer and once with uterine cancer, Linda credits the staff at West Mid with saving her life. Her story, shared in a short video released by CW+, highlights the compassion and dedication of NHS staff and the importance of creating uplifting hospital environments.

“They didn’t just do their jobs – they carried me, with warmth and humanity, through an incredibly difficult time,” Linda says. “They saved my life. That’s the bottom line.”

CW+ is calling on supporters to help fund a range of initiatives that enhance patient and staff wellbeing across the Trust. At West Middlesex University Hospital, donations support:

  • The new Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre (ADC), with state-of-the-art equipment and patient-centred design
  • Live music performances on wards to promote calm and connection
  • Creative activities for patients of all ages
  • Award-winning art and design projects that transform clinical settings
  • Dedicated rest spaces for staff during long shifts

Sarah McCullough, Director of Fundraising at CW+, said, “Linda’s story captures exactly why our appeal matters. The generosity of our supporters enables us to transform hospital spaces, lift spirits and provide comfort during the most difficult times. Every donation, large or small, will help us make hospital life a little brighter for thousands of patients and staff this Christmas and throughout the year.”

The CW+ Christmas Appeal 2025 is now live, and donations can be made via the charity’s website. Linda’s video is available to watch at:

The charity hopes the appeal will inspire people to give back to the NHS this festive season, helping to fund innovation, comfort, and care for those who need it most.
