Gunnersbury Park Hit By Anti-management Graffiti
Staff members and bowls club mentioned in acts of vandalism
Anti-management graffiti has appeared in Gunnersbury Park

There have been a number of incidents of vandalism in Gunnersbury Park recently with graffiti referring to the controversial issue of the bowling green and mentioning members of staff working for the company which manages the park.
Gunnersbury Estate 2026 CIC (CIC) has applied for planning permission to allow the premises of the Gunnersbury Park Bowls Club to be converted into a pitch and putt run by Putt in the Park. The planning application has been refused by Hounslow Council but the CIC have indicated that it does not intend to abandon the proposal and has refused the bowls club permission to maintain the bowling green.
One piece of graffiti daubed on a sign in the park says 'Bowler must resign' a reference to David Bowler the chief executive of the CIC.
In a statement the CIC said, “While there may be differing opinions on the future of the bowling green and pavilion, acts of vandalism and criminal damage are never acceptable ways to express those opinions.
“At a time of continued operational and financial pressures, the unnecessary expense of having to remove graffiti is an unwelcome distraction.
“We hope that the actions of the individual or small group of individuals responsible will be deplored by the majority of park users.”
A petition opposing the closure of the bowls club has been signed by over 600 people.
