Ealing Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an attempted murder in Ealing on Monday 3.1.05.

Police were called at around 3 pm to Beech Gardens at the junction with Cedar Grove, Ealing W5 to reports of a shooting. Officers attended the location with London Ambulance Service and found 18-yr-old Tyrone James suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken by air ambulance to an east London hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable. The gunmen's faces were covered with scarves, and they were described as black, and it is believed that they escaped in a vehicle. Police are still searching for the handgun.

An incident room has opened at West Hendon under detectives from Operation Trident.

There have been no arrests yet, and there are no suspects descriptions to issue at present, but the police are treating this case as attempted murder.

A number of items have been retrieved from the scene and sent for forensic examination.
