Did you witness Church Road attack?


Gang attack retired man at entrance to Bunny Park

Ealing Borough Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the assault of a 66 year old man on the footpath opposite the entrance to the Brent Valley Golf Course in Church Road, Hanwell, W7 at 16.45pm on Monday 20th December 2004.

The retired man was attacked by a group of about 5 - 7 white and black youths, and left lying in the pavement bleeding. The suspects were last seen running off down Church Road towards the Brent River Valley Park, known locally as the Bunny Park. This park adjoins the West Middlesex Golf Course and leads to the Greenford Road.

The victim was conveyed to a west London hospital and is currently being treated for a fractured skull and bruising to his face. Police are remaining open minded about the motive of the attack.

The victim is a white man and was wearing a grey polo necked jumper, navy chinos and black shoes at the time of the incident.

We would like to appeal to any member of the community who may have noticed the victim in the Church Road, Hanwell Area prior to this incident to contact police.

We would also like to appeal to anybody who may have seen the suspects in the area at any time before or after the incident to contact police.

Did you see the suspects enter the West Middlesex Golf Course from the Bunny Park area?

Did the suspects exit the Golf Course on the Greenford Road?

Ealing Police Spokesperson states, �Ealing borough police are treating this incident very seriously and are anxious to trace the offenders. This was a terrifying vicious and unprovoked attack on an innocent and vulnerable member of the community who will now be spending the festive period in hospital. It is important we locate these individuals as they may pose a significant danger to others. We would like to appeal to anyone with information about incident or offenders to get in contact.�
