Families in Ealing are invited to enjoy a free afternoon of summer activities this Thursday (30 July), as Ealing Broadway shopping centre teams up with local charity Home-Start Ealing for a community event designed to bring people together and highlight support available for parents and carers with young children.
Running from 11am to 2pm in the Town Square, the event forms part of Ealing Broadway’s wider Sportropolis summer programme and offers creative activities, giveaways and a sandcastle-building competition with three £25 Smiggle vouchers up for grabs.
Families can head to Sportropolis Beach, where children can pick up a free balloon, take part in Conversation Jenga and, from 1.30pm, build their best sandcastle for the chance to win a prize. The event is completely free, suitable for all ages and does not require booking.
Home-Start Ealing’s team will be on hand throughout the afternoon to chat about the charity’s work supporting parents and carers with young children, as well as its volunteering opportunities and ways for local residents to get involved. The charity provides practical and emotional support through trained volunteers who work directly with families across the borough.
Andrew Rollings, centre director at Ealing Broadway, said the partnership reflects the centre’s commitment to supporting local families. “We're proud to be working with Home-Start Ealing again this summer to support the fantastic work they do for local families. As part of our programme of free activities, we hope this event gives people the chance to come together, have fun and discover more about the difference Home-Start Ealing makes in our community.”

The event is part of Ealing Broadway’s Sportropolis programme, which runs until Friday 4 September and includes weekly Saturday Sports Club sessions, football-themed Jump Serve and Sub Soccer challenges, family rugby sessions with Ealing Trailfinders, and access to the Sportropolis Beach throughout the summer.
