August 26, 2026
A decade ago, a small group of Ealing artists opened their studio doors and invited neighbours in for a weekend of informal browsing. This September, BEAT — the Borough of Ealing Art Trail — celebrates its 10th anniversary, and organisers say the 2026 edition will be the largest and most ambitious yet.
Running across two weekends, 5–6 and 12–13 September, with a special midweek evening opening on Wednesday 9 September, BEAT brings together over 200 artists across 68 venues, offering five days of open studios and exhibitions. Every venue is free to enter, and no booking is required — a deliberate choice that keeps the trail accessible and rooted in the community.
Visitors might find themselves stepping into a painter’s front room, a sculptor’s garden workshop, a textile artist’s attic studio or a ceramics display in a church hall. The trail stretches across the borough, encouraging people to wander through familiar streets and discover the extraordinary creativity happening behind ordinary doors.
The range of work on show is equally broad: painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, textiles, photography, jewellery and mixed media. Much of it is available to buy, and purchasing directly from the artist remains one of BEAT’s defining pleasures — a chance to hear the story behind a piece and support local makers.
This year’s programme also includes a special exhibition in aid of Ealing Foodbank, underscoring BEAT’s commitment to community. The trail is run entirely by volunteers, many of whom are exhibiting artists themselves, and the event’s not‑for‑profit ethos has helped it grow organically over the past decade.
Opening times: • 5–6 September, 11am–6pm • 9 September, 6–9pm • 12–13 September, 11am–6pm
