Drayton Green Road in West Ealing was closed this Wednesday morning (2 June) after a fire broke out in Luminosity Court.

London Fire Brigade described the fire as a ‘small incident’ but the building has a simultaneous evacuation procedure in place as an extra precaution. It is understood that issues with the cladding in the nine storey building require the presence of a fire warden 24/7.

The Brigade was called at 9.14am and they had the fire under control within 15 minutes. Five fire engines and around 35 firefighters from Ealing, Acton, Southall and Chiswick fire stations attended the scene.

A part of a three-roomed flat on the first floor of the building was damaged. There were no reports of any injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
