Springhallow School
Springhallow is a special school in the Draytons for around 53 pupils aged between 5 and 16, and a pupil/teacher ration of 5:1. At that time, it provided for pupils in the autistic ‘spectrum’ as well as those with language disorder and delays.
The educational aims were given as:
" To give every child equality of opportunity through a broad
and balanced curriculum
designed to meet their special needs;
* To develop a positive and independent approach to learning;
* To provide a relevant and stimulating programme which enables
every child to reach their full potential;
* To provide a safe and friendly environment which allows for
the development of the
individual;
* To develop social and communication skills;
* To value other people and their thoughts and ideas;
