Ace new tennis facilities come to Lammas Park

If you're suffering withdrawal symptoms from Wimbledon, all is not lost. As one of the largest public sports complexes in London, Will to Win Lammas Park is set to be a centre court for Ealing's tennis enthusiasts.



Wimbledon semi finalist Roger Taylor was guest of honour for the official opening of Will to Win Lammas Park on 13th July. The past Davis Cup captain twice US Open doubles champion said of Will to Win: "I am delighted to be involved with this scheme and the parks facilities if properly run and developed will be a great opportunity for any kids to develop their tennis.

"Coaches will be able to identify new talent and enable players to develop. The friendly welcoming atmosphere at these public facilities will ensure players stay in the game make the parks centres a success."


Will to Win Ltd is a sports development company that has worked with local authorities for the past 10 years to develop often neglected park sites. The centres are welcoming, affordable and have great facilities.


Lammas Park Ealing will boast up to 15 tennis courts (eight floodlit), four multi sport pitches, football, netball, and petanque.

There is a fully fitted pavilion serving drinks and snacks and hot food, with changing facilities and toilets. Also an advance booking facility is available.


"The Lammas Park Centre will be a great model public facility," said Director of Will to Win, Steve Riley."It will bring together the best aspects of sports provision - great facilities and welcoming and dedicated professionals staff delivering sport for the local community to a high standard.

"Tennis too often is seen to be elitist and too expensive with an exclusive feel. At this public facility players get a friendly welcoming service at a reasonable price. We will cater for all ages and abilities in a variety of sports’
Executive director of Tennis Foundation, Sue Mappin, said: "This is another example of a successful public private partnership delivering quality facilities with a sustainable tennis programme for all ages and abilities in local parks. The Tennis Foundation’s aim is to develop this concept in other locations throughout the country to offer a sustainable tennis delivery to the local community. Will to Win is one of the main innovators in public centre provision in London and we will be working with them, and other coaching teams, in the future to provide nationwide parks development in partnership with local authorities."


The centre also encourages schools to use the facilities and has free walk on courts for kids where courts are free from Monday to Friday, 3-6pm during the summer.


The centre offers professional tennis coaching and has an adult and junior programme with camps in the summer holidays, TEAMS AND SOCIAL SESSIONS. The environment is safe and there is even a secluded grass play areas for under 3’s.
