Angie Bray Campaigns To Reopen the District Line Ticket Hall

In a bid to relieve Ealing Broadway Station's Overcrowding

Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Ealing Central and Acton and London Assembly member, Angie Bray, has called on Mayor Ken to help relieve commuters' misery at Ealing Broadway Station.

And the signs are she's on the right track. When asked by Angie whether, "Given the high levels of overcrowding, would TfL consider reopening the old arched entrance to the District Line platforms at Ealing Broadway Station?", Mayor Ken said that it is indeed being considered.

"TfL is in the final stages of a feasibility study which considered congestion relief and step free access into the station as two of its key points," he said. "The options reviewed centred around re-opening the old District Line ticket hall."

At that point, at the end of last year, Ken assured Angie that the study was complete and its recommendations expected to be available shortly.

That was at the end of last year, so by our reckoning the these recommendations should now be available.

"I have now tabled another question for the first mayoral question time of 2008 asking when the TFL report will be finished so that their recommendation on this can be forwarded on to me as suggested by the Mayor," Angie told EalingToday.

Sounds just the ticket!
