Top Jazz Musician To Play Ealing Youth Prom

Some of Ealing's finest young musicians will perform alongside MOBO award-winner, YolanDa Brown at on 30 June and 1 July in the first ever Ealing Youth Prom.

The concerts will feature performances from more than 500 Ealing students from 15 primary and secondary schools as well as from leading saxophonist, YolanDa Brown, and first-class, London-based Jazz group, Tomorrow’s Warriors.

The events have been organised by the Ealing Music Partnership (a collaboration between the council’s music service and schools, colleges and other organisations). They are designed to showcase and celebrate the talent of Ealing’s young musicians and to give a platform to local rising stars.

Also playing are the Ealing Schools Orchestra, Ealing Beginner Strings and the award-winning Twyford Gospel Choir.

The concerts will take place at Twyford C.E. High School on Saturday 30 June and Sunday 1 July from 5-8pm. Tickets are priced at £5 (£3 concessions) and are available in advance only by calling 0208 752 0141.

YolanDa Brown said: “I love meeting and working with young people. In fact my biggest inspiration comes from them. I am really looking forward to playing at Ealing Youth Prom and meeting all the fantastic young musicians from Ealing Schools across the borough"

Councillor Patricia Walker, cabinet member for Children and Young People, said: “The Ealing Youth Prom is a wonderful opportunity to see the talent that is being fostered in our schools through the very good work of the Ealing Music Service. We are also very fortunate to be joined by professional musicians, YolanDa Brown and Tomorrow’s Warriors.
