Ealing Primary Celebrates Award Win

and prepares for fun Summer fair this Saturday

St. Saviour’s Infant and Primary School in Ealing has many reasons to celebrate this week. Not only is the forecast for the annual Summer Fair set to be glorious for this Saturday, but the Parent-Teacher Association has won a prestigious Gold Star Award and one thousand pounds for the enthusiastic involvement of parents in its ‘Donut Mornings’ aimed at getting dads more involved in school life.

This year’s Summer Fair, to be held this Saturday 3rd July, will be opened by celebrity television couple Angellica Bell and Michael Underwood. Bell was born and raised in Ealing, and she fondly remembers picking her sisters up from St. Saviour’s School.

“Michael and I are really pleased to open the St. Saviours Summer Fair this Saturday. We love school fetes and I have lots of family still in Ealing.” Both Bell and Underwood are former CBBC presenters. Bell can be seen now on BBC’s The One Show, while Underwood is over on Channel 5’s Live at Studio 5.

Throughout the circus-themed day, families and children will be able to enjoy food, a fairground ride, games, and pocket money stalls. Parents will also be able to purchase Micro Scooters and win excellent raffle prizes donated by local businesses. There will be a barbeque, cold drinks, as well as books, cards, jewellery and plants on sale.

Donut Mornings encourages dads, uncles, grandfathers, older brothers, family friends - in fact any male role model (and where there is no male role model mums can attend instead) to bring children to school and enjoy a morning of donuts and playtime. The first Donut Morning was held back in November 2008 and was such a success, there are four Donut Mornings each year, two for Foundation Stage and two for Key Stage 1 pupils, with at least 100 dads attending each event.
