St Faith's Fourth Christmas Fair
Come and be Christmassy
St Faith’s Christmas Fair takes place Tuesday 27th November 2012, 6pm-9pm, at St Faith’s Church and Church Hall, Windmill Road, Brentford
Now in its third year, the St Faith’s Christmas Fayre is a popular community event with over 1,000 visitors attending last year.
Choirs from Lionel Primary School and Gumley House Convent School, children from Chiswick Pop School & Stage Academy, Brentford Belles and St Faith’s own choir will be performing throughout the evening.
Entrance to the fayre is free and local pub The Lord Nelson will be selling hot food, beer and other drinks from their stall (last year their mulled wine proved so popular that additional supplies had to be brought over from the pub…)
The Fayre organisers are proud to promote local small businesses and artists with each stallholder offering something special for Christmas ranging from food & drink, toys & games, jewellery, books and handmade cards& gifts. We really do have butchers, bakers and candlestick makers!
Among the stall holders returning to the Fayre this year are local butcher John Richardson of Richardson’s,
Northfield Avenue; local fishmongers Katie and Simon Osborne of Poisson Fishmongers also of Northfield Avenue
and Ian Moore of Plum Duff Bakery based on The Avenue in Chiswick. This year we also have Sue Montgomery of
Thai Cooking School , Northfield Avenue. And once again, our food vendors won’t just be selling festive foodstuff
and taking orders for Christmas – they’ll be putting on cookery demonstrations too.
Other stallholders are local silversmith Jane West of Jane West Jewellery, The Cracked Pot flower boutique and
Ethical Babe natural & fairly traded baby products both of Northfield Avenue, The Dressing Up Chest selling
hand-made fancy dress and stage costumes for children and adults, fabric and woollen clothes and gifts from
Handmade by Cela and West London based glass giftware and jewellery maker Kumari Glass. Also present will be
Belles Bon Bons selling traditional sweets in jars and fresh hand-made fudge , Popcorn Box with goods & ideas for
the home, Mio Handmade Jewellery selling pearl & gemstone jewellery, Little Africa selling fair trade,hand-made
candles & ornaments, Lorna Kyle Handmade Cards and newly established cheese shop Cheddar Deli of Northfield
Avenue who sell British, Irish and continental cheeses. Toys and games will be on sale from Gravey The Collector
and cards & wrapping paper from Phoenix Cards via Sandy and Simon Higgs. There will be jewellery and stationery
from Annie Darlasson. Local estate agent Russell Collins is helping promote the Fayre so look out for their signs.
The Reverend Derath Durkin said “We had such wonderful feedback from the visitors and stallholders that took part last year. Lots of people commented on the warm and jolly festive atmosphere. We’re really looking forward to this year’s Fayre – I’m ‘tweeting’ about it now @stfaithsfayre - A lot of people love the idea of a head start on getting ready for Christmas ”
