Opera A La Carte in The Park

Enjoy a magical summer night in Ealing's big top

Tickets are now on sale for this year’s Opera in the Park – part of Ealing Summer Festivals.

Chamber opera company Opera A La Carte, returns to Walpole Park on Sunday, 17 July for one night only to perform Verdi’s classic, Rigoletto.

Directed by Nicholas Heath, this intimate performance of the 1850’s opera brings together a tale of love, murder and sacrifice. The story is set around a womanising Duke and his jester Rigoletto, who is juggling to keep his daughter hidden from society while entertaining men who mock him. The jester is cursed by a Count, revealing elements of his personal life, which he has kept secret from the dark world he works in.

Councillor Kamaljit Dhindsa, cabinet member for Customer and Community Service, said:
“Our annual opera is something very special – it’s a magical night in the big top tent. This is a great opportunity for people who might not think opera is for them to come and experience it on their doorstep. Many of the tunes will be familiar and the performance will have something for everyone with elements of comedy, romance and danger.”

Ealing Opera in the Park is held on Sunday, 17 July, in Walpole Park, Mattock Lane, Ealing, W5. Gates open at 5.30pm and the show begins at 6.30pm.

Tickets range in price from £10 for a bronze seat, £15 for silver, £20 for gold and £25 for a platinum seat. Visit www.seetickets.com or call 0871 620 4016 to book a ticket. Calls are charged at 10p/min from a standard BT line. Transaction and booking fees apply.
