Will Gunnersbury Park event get its licence?
This year's Mela festival, due to take place in Gunnersbury Park on 13 August, is under threat following a protest by local residents.
Organisers CiP have upset people living around the park by applying for an event licence that would, theoretically, allow them to hold an unlimited number of events lasting until midnight every night.
One angry resident, who wished to remain anonymous, told us "If they think that they can get away with treating us like this then they are definately mistaken. We are protesting en masse and we want this licence turned down.
Local councillor Ruth Cadbury said "All councillors in the area have had calls about this. Local residents should have been consulted - I can understand their frustration and I hope their concerns can be addressed".
A panel of councillors will decide if the application can be passed on 26 July. Residents are threatening to turn out in force.
"Over 100 people have sent letters of objection and many of us are going to the Civic Centre to make our voices heard" we were told.
The licence can be amended to allow just one event - such as the Mela.
