Ealing Libraries continue popular series of talks

Looking back at the world around us

Ealing and the world around it in retrospect

Suspicious deaths, a Cold War uprising and fifty years of rock'n'roll are just some of the topics that will be covered in the next instalment of Ealing Council's 'Retrospect' library series.

The autumn run of this popular series will commence on the 9 September with a House History Day and conclude in October with a moving account of Cold War Hungary.

Details are as follows:

Foul Deeds and Suspicious Deaths in Ealing 'Murder Walk'

If you're curious about the more sinister side of Ealing's past, this is the event for you!  Dr Jonathan Oates, author of a recently published book on this topic, will lead a guided walk round Ealing, revealing the sites and stories behind murders from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century.  The event will begin at Ealing Broadway Station and last approximately two hours.

1956 was a great year for rock'n'roll and you can join the 50th anniversary celebration at Greenford Library.  The foot-tapping fun will include refreshments, nostalgic music and a chance to see the library staff dressed in '50's style!  Enjoy the clock turning back for free.
