Presentation on plans this Saturday with exhibition
Local people are invited to have their say on the proposed restoration plans for Gunnersbury Park and Museum at a special consultation event to be held on Saturday, 23 November.

Residents who attend the meeting will be able to view the draft plans and talk to members of the project team, who will be on hand to answer questions. There will also be a presentation about the proposed work, along with an art workshop where children can have their say on the plans in a creative way.
In July last year, Ealing and Hounslow councils were awarded two first round grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to develop detailed plans to redevelop the museum, as well as the  historic core area of the park and its heritage buildings.
The project will see the park and museum transformed into a sustainable, high quality destination that serves the local community, while respecting and enhancing its long and rich history.  If successful at the second round, the two councils are in line to receive more than £7.7million from the HLF to carry out the work.
Leader of Ealing Council, Councillor Julian Bell, said: “I encourage all local people to attend this public meeting so they can view the exciting plans in store for Gunnersbury Park and Museum. This is a great opportunity for residents to have their say on the future of the park and its historic buildings.”
Cllr Colin Ellar, deputy leader of Hounslow council and cabinet member for environment, said: “We have some exciting plans to restore the park and museum, and we are keen to hear people’s views. The refurbishment will open up a new museum, and we will be able to offer much more of the collections and a wide variety of learning and training opportunities. Plans for the park will allow people to really appreciate the historic landscape, as well as enhancing the environment with new facilities for play, refreshment, events and recreation.”

The consultation event will take place at the small mansion in Gunnersbury Park, Popes Lane, W3 8LQ, from 2pm on Saturday, 23 November. All residents are welcome to attend, however places are limited. Please email gunnersbury@ealing.gov.uk or call 020 8825 6742 to reserve a spot for the presentation and the children's workshop.

Residents can also find out about the proposed restoration works during an exhibition that will be displayed in the Small Mansion in Gunnersbury Park from now until 9 December.  The exhibition is being displayed in the park next to the café and people are encouraged to offer their views and feedback on the plans.
