The Icing on The Cake


Are you Britain's best amateur cake maker?

Cake makers across Britain, if you want to be named the best baker in the land, now is the time get out the rolling pin, throw on that apron and dust off the icing piper as there are only a few days left to enter a national baking competition.

To celebrate its 21st anniversary, the experiences company Red Letter Days has asked the British public to submit a birthday cake for the chance to be crowned Britain’s best amateur baker.

The competition closes this Sunday (27th June), when all the entries need to be submitted as photos or videos to social.redletterdays.co.uk

The national baking competition is open to those ages 12 and up, there is no restriction on size, shape, colour or recipe, and with entries already received including cakes shaped as a castle, a pair of Wellingtons, Red Letter Days experiences and even a Star Wars R2D2 - the competition is set to fire the imagination of any discerning cake lover.

The contest will culminate in a birthday cake-off in London between eight finalists on July 5th to be judged by celebrity Master Pâtissier (creator of Madonna’s wedding cake!) and star of TV’s Glamour Puds, Eric Lanlard.

As well the honour of being name Britain’s Best Amateur Baker, the winner will also receive an all expenses paid trip for two to Sri Lanka from Advantage Luxury Specialist.

The other finalists will also be able to take home a cake making master class with Eric Lanlard and £1000 worth of Red Letter Days vouchers.
