Brentford and Chiswick Local History Society Event Programme
The Brentford & Chiswick Local History Society continues its Spring programme of talks:Monday 19 February 7.30pm
            Medieval treasure in the Thames:  accident, rubbish or ritual?
John Clark, formerly a Museum of  London curator, considers why the 2,600 Thames objects in its collection – ranging from Anglo-Saxon spearheads from  Brentford to pilgrim badges from the City – were deposited in the river.
Monday 19 March, 7.30pm
            Gunnersbury Park: the Place and the People
            A talk by James Wisdom and Val Bott, using more than 60 images, some newly discovered, and the  recent research which will appear in their forthcoming Scala Publications book  on the history of the Gunnersbury estate.
Monday 16 April, 7.30pm 
            Lost Railways of Chiswick and Brentford
            An illustrated  talk by Stephen Hine, looking at the  tracks, stations and sidings that served the Brentford and Chiswick area in the  past, many of which have disappeared or fallen into disuse.
Monday 21 May, 
            7.30pm 
            Annual General Meeting
      After  the business meeting the Brentford & Chiswick Local History  Journal 27 will be available for members to collect, then copies will be  posted to those unable to attend.
The Society's talks take place at the Chiswick Memorial Club, Bourne Place, Chiswick W4. Please note that we have access to the Club from 7pm

            A date for your diary:  Summer Outing
            We are still planning the  details of the forthcoming outing, but this is the date to save. Full details  will be sent out with a booking form in the spring.
The Society's talks take place at the Chiswick Memorial Club, Bourne Place, Chiswick W4. Please note that the Club does not open until 7pm.
