Rave or Rumba on Ealing Green

Your chance to take part in the Big Dance

Enjoy a rare opportunity to rave or rumba as the Big Dance Bus arrives in Haven Green, Ealing on Wednesday 11 July as part of the Big Dance 2012.

Hundreds of dancers from America, Australia and Canada will be performing alongside local dance groups on and around the Big Dance Bus which comes with its own dance floor and sound system from 3 to 7pm.

Organised by Watermans in Brentford and Ealing Business Improvement District, and supported by Ealing Council, the event is promising something for a range of tastes from hip hop to tango with visitors encouraged to join in or learn new moves in workshops.

The Big Dance Bus is part of Big Dance 2012 and the London 2012 Festival to celebrate the Olympics and Paralympics.

Ealing Council’s libraries outreach team will also have a stand at the event where visitors can pick up information about the service and become a member.

The council is working with partners including Watermans, Greater London Authority, Ealing Business Improvement District and the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) on a range of events to celebrate the 2012 games.

On Tuesday 24 July, people are being encouraged to take to the streets to cheer on the Olympic torch relay along its route from Northala Fields towards Southall and along Uxbridge Road through Hanwell, West Ealing and on to Ealing High Street and Ealing Green, along St Mary’s Road, Church Lane and Culmington Road before reaching its final destination at Walpole Park where a ticket-only evening celebration will take place.

Showtime – entertainment everywhere – is a free festival of entertainment and culture from the Mayor of London and London 2012 Festival taking place on Sunday 29 July from 11am-4pm at various venues including Ealing Green and Pitzhanger Manor. Find out more at www.molpresents.com/showtime
