Your chance to shine at the Bandstand Marathon
Local musicians will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in the largest closing event for the London 2012 Festival on 9th September..
Musical performances held at Haven Green, Ealing Broadway will be one of hundreds of outdoor, community concerts taking place simultaneously across the country, making up the Bandstand Marathon.
Music of all types is welcomed. Bands, groups, choirs & individual musicians are being sought to perform, helping to make the Bandstand Marathon truly memorable and create a cultural legacy for others.
Leader of Ealing Council, councillor Julian Bell said: “The Bandstand Marathon promises to be an exciting and historic event for performers and the audience. On the final day of the Paralympic Games let’s show London what wonderful and diverse musical talent we have in Ealing.”
Katharine Lane, Superact’s Associate Director, explains: “This is a fantastic opportunity for musicians to showcase their talent to their local community and feel they are playing a part in the London 2012 Festival. The Bandstand Marathon aims to include as much live performance from as many cultures and communities as possible.”
The London 2012 Festival is the spectacular 12-week nationwide celebration running from 21 June until 9 September 2012 bringing together leading artists from across the world with the very best from the UK.
