It helps just knowing where to look

New directory of services for older people

A free new directory of services is now available to help older people and their carers find out about local services in Ealing.

The Directory of Services for Older People provides information about a range of organisations that offer services to older people and their carers. It covers areas from social care, health, housing and transport to specialist organisations for black and ethnic minority communities.

Age Concern Ealing wrote the directory in partnership with Ealing Council and Ealing Primary Care Trust.

The directory can be found at a variety of public places throughout the borough including GP surgeries, voluntary sector organisations, day centres, libraries, community centres and social services receptions.

Councillor Karen Hunte, cabinet member for Independent Living, said: This directory will be an invaluable source of information for older residents of Ealing and will help them to locate useful services easily.

I am delighted that Age Concern, Ealing Council and the Primary Care Trust have made this book available for the benefit of the community, and especially the older people.

The directory can be downloaded from the following websites: Ealing Council www.ealing.gov.uk , Ealing Primary Care Trust www.ealingpct.nhs.uk and Age Concern Ealing www.ageconcernealing.org.uk

Copies can also be requested from the Social Services contact centre at Ealing Council on 020 8825 8000.
