CBE

Ealing educationalist Mrs Rekha Bhakoo, BHAKOO Headteacher of Newton Farm Nursery, First and Middle School, in Harrow has been awarded the CBE for services to Education.

During her time as head, Newton Farm has had an excellent OFSTED report and won many awards, including the Government School Achievement awards for three years running. Mrs Bhakoo has also played a personal role in a number of developments, including working on the feasibility of the recently implemented workforce remodelling initiative.

MBE

As one of the outstanding England cricket team which saw the triumphant return of the Ashes to England last summer, Andrew Strauss, well-known to followers of England and Middlesex cricket , has been awarded the MBE for services to cricket.
