Is This The Best Volunteer Job Ever?

Children's charity is seeking candidates for American vacation

Rollercoasters, unlimited ice cream, whale watching and clowning around in the Florida sunshine; is this the best volunteer job ever?

National charity, Caudwell Children, has launched a campaign to find so-called ’Dream Makers‘ who will do all this and more on their ‘Destination Dreams’ holiday.

Successful applicants will also get to witness the iconic firework display at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, feed a school of dolphins and learn how to be a Jedi.

Caudwell Children is seeking 40 suitable candidates who will join the 2013 Destination Dreams trip to the United States, which has been specifically designed for children battling life-threatening conditions.

During the week in December the Dream Makers will be with the children and their families as they visit several of the world-famous theme parks, including Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios and SeaWorld as part of the fully supported holiday of a lifetime.

Now in its 7th year, the charity wants people from all walks of life to apply and no previous experience is necessary.

Trudi Beswick, Chief Executive of Caudwell Children, said “This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of something incredible.

It’s a common misconception that being alongside seriously ill children and their families will be a sad or upsetting experience, when in fact it is quite the opposite.

Those who have experienced the magic of Destination Dreams often refer to this life-changing experience as empowering, uplifting, humbling and incredibly rewarding.

Everyone gets so much out being part of the trip, not only during the week but in their day-to-day lives when they return.

It’s no surprise the volunteers come back time and time again to be part of the Destination Dreams experience.”

The charity is now opening up the opportunity to become a Dream Maker on Destination Dreams to new applicants who wish to take part.

Taking place in December, applicants will need to be available between the 1st and 10th of the month as well as pass a DBS check.

No previous experience is necessary as the charity host a social weekend to train those taking part, but knowledge of anything Disney is desirable!
