Terrified woman had phone taken by man who tried to steal engagement ring
British Transport Police (BTP) is appealing for information after a violent robbery where a woman was robbed of her iPhone.
The incident occurred at 6.15pm on Friday 17 February onboard a Piccadilly line train between Acton Town and South Ealing station. The victim, aged 33 and from the local area, was on board a westbound service when she was threatened with violence by a man who demanded her phone.
The victim handed her phone over. The robber also tried to take the woman's engagement ring but was unsuccessful before fleeing the train at South Ealing.
BTP Detective Constable Martyn Kemp, the investigating officer, said: "Although robberies are uncommon on the Tube this was a frightening experience for the victim, who thankfully wasn't injured.
"The train was busy and we are keen to speak to other passengers on board, in particular the people who intervened before the robber fled.
"I urge anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information which may help the investigation to get in contact."
The robber is described as in his early twenties, black with short shaved hair and about 5' 11" tall. He was wearing a white top and grey trousers and was travelling with another man.
