Dispute over the dismissal over a colleague
Ealing traffic wardens are going on strike on Thursday and Friday (15/16th March) again this week in support of a colleague who has been sacked.
The parking attendants employed by NSL took action last week over the dismissal of a fellow worker after allegations of falsifying documents.
NSL has denied claims from the sacked worker that attendants have to give a quota of tickets - which is illegal.
The traffic wardens are expected to protest outside the company's offices in Uxbridge Road, West Ealing.
Union representative Richard Gates from Unite says:
''The parking enforcement officers - CEO's- at NSL Ealing who carry out parking enforcement for Ealing council will be on strike tomorrow 15th March and Friday 16th March.
This is over the dismissal of the Unite shop steward Parveen Bhardwaj.
There has been no communications with NSL management since the last two days strike action except my invitation for talks which I had no response to.''
He says the union wants the Mr Bhardwaj reinstated and it will be up to members if any further action is taken.
A spokesperson from NSL said: "Unite members are striking in support of a former member of NSL staff who was dismissed for falsifying documents. Whilst a small number of staff in Ealing have been dismissed or disciplined since the beginning of the year, all of these have been for documented cases of non attendance at work."
