The Great Clear-Up

Council and residents deal with aftermath of storm

Ealing Council say their staff have been working 'flat out' to clear storm debris.

Dozens of trees fell across the borough as high winds battered London early yesterday morning (28/10).

Wind speeds were some of the highest in the region with speeds of 68 MPH recorded in Northolt at 7am.

A Mercedes car on Brougham Road in W3 was damaged.

This car on Essex Road W3 had a more lucky escape.

Ealing Council say priority has been given to trees that could be dangerous or that are blocking roads and pavements.

Tree officers and park rangers will be carrying out inspections throughout the day at sites including parks around the borough.

Street cleaning crews have been redeployed and will be helping to clear storm debris.  Refuse and recycling collection crews are working but may be delayed.
