Residents are being encouraged to put forward their local sporting heroes as nominations open for the Ealing Sports Awards 2026.
The awards, run by Ealing Council in partnership with leisure provider Everyone Active, celebrate the commitment, talent and achievements of sports clubs, volunteers and individual athletes across the borough. They recognise those who have made a difference between 1 May 2025 and 30 April 2026, whether through outstanding sporting performance or dedicated community involvement.
Nominations are now being accepted across ten categories: junior club of the year, sports club of the year, coach of the year, adult volunteer of the year, junior volunteer of the year, outstanding contribution to sport, inclusive and active award, junior sports person of the year and adult sports person of the year. Any club, organisation, group or individual based in the borough is eligible, and there is no limit to the number of categories a nominee can be entered for.
The awards have become a key moment in the borough’s sporting calendar, shining a light on the people who help keep grassroots sport thriving. Last year’s Inclusive and Active Award was won by Kuldip Singh from cycling group Let’s Ride Southall. Singh, who uses a hand bike designed for people with disabilities, leads inclusive cycle training sessions and has become a role model for many in the community. Reflecting on his journey at the time, he said that after a life-changing event eight years earlier, he had sought opportunities to rebuild his life while helping others become more active and improve their wellbeing.
Nominations for this year’s awards close at midday on Friday 1 May 2026. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in the summer.
More information and nomination forms are available on the Everyone Active website.
