Rubbish and Recycling Over Easter

No changes for waste collections over next few weeks

Residents are reminded that their usual collection day for recycling and rubbish will not change over Easter. Collections will take place on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Collections over the May bank holidays also will not change:

Usual collection day Actual collection
Monday 1 May (bank holiday) Monday 1 May
Monday 29 May (bank holiday) Monday 29 May

Cllr Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for environment leisure and transport said: “Collections for rubbish and recycling will remain the same over the upcoming bank holidays and residents are encouraged to check the council’s website if they require any further information.

“Recycling rates in Ealing continue to rise, bucking the national and London trend, which are both falling. We have seen rates increase by six percentage points since the council introduced alternate weekly collections last June meaning we are hitting our ambitious target of recycling 50% of household waste a year early.”

Residents can put a wide range of materials in their blue wheelie bins without sorting. These are collected on alternative weeks, with rubbish stored in the black wheelie bins collected fortnightly, and green food waste collected every week.

People are asked to place recycling out for collection by 7am on their collection day, and to check the collection schedule to make sure they know which weeks to put out their recycling.
