Stolen Property Recovered After Riots
Police want to return it to rightful owners
Officers in Ealing have recovered TV's, DVD players, cameras and electrical items following searches at addresses across the borough.
As part of the on going intensive investigations into the disorder that happened in Ealing on 08.08.11, police have executed search warrants at over 40 addresses so far, a number of individuals have been arrested and charged and are at present going through the court process.
Officers are very keen to ensure that stolen property is identified and that those involved in the criminal activities that took place across London do not have the opportunity to keep their illegal gains.
During the course of their searches if there is any suspicion property is stolen it will be seized and the ownership thoroughly investigated.
So far a number of victims have been identified and once the court processes have been completed, where possible the property will be returned to its respective owners.
Detective Chief Superintendent Rowell, Ealing Borough Commander said :
“It has been over a week since the disorder and I again thank the people of Ealing for their amazing support to my officers, who in the most testing of circumstances, have acted so bravely, with no thought for themselves, to protect the community of Ealing. I again implore those who know the whereabouts of those involved to contact us.
'' So far, with the help of the local community, we have identified a large number of people involved in the disorder and arrests have been made. We will continue to search out those responsible attacking our neighbourhoods and recovering stolen property''.
