Ealing Council To Reopen Recycling Centre

Greenford tip start operating later this month but no word on Stirling Road

Ealing Council's New Arrangements for Refuse Collection

Ealing Council have announced their intention to reopen the Greenford Reuse and Recycling Centre on Monday, 18 May.

This follows similar moves by other councils in London who were prompted to return facilities to operation due to revised government advice.

Other authorities are restricting access to recycling centres because of fears of a surge of demand raising issues about maintaining social distancing. Many are using a system based on car number plates to limit the number of people able to access sites on any given day. Ealing say they will confirm details of how the Greenford tip will operate later.

When the site reopens the council say residents should only go there to drop-off essential waste that cannot be disposed of either using the council’s doorstep collection service or its bulky waste collection service.

The council have not disclosed any intention to reopen the recycling centre in Stirling Road, Acton as yet.

Residents are reminded that their usual collection day for recycling and rubbish will not change for the late May bank holiday on Monday, 25 May.
