More children in Ealing get top school

More than 84% out of Ealing children have been offered a place their first choice of primary school. And nearly 95% have been offered a place at one of their top three schools. This is an increase on last year.

The council has made 4,294 offers and every Ealing child that applied on time has been offered a place.

Patricia Walker, cabinet member for children and young people, said: “Like most of London, there is a rising demand for primary places in Ealing. We have planned ahead and invested in creating more permanent and temporary places which means that we are in the happy position of being able to offer the vast majority of parents their first choice of school.”

Parents who have not received an offer from their preferred school are advised to accept the school they have been offered. The council’s admissions service will automatically place them on the waiting list for schools that were higher up in their preference to the one offered.

Families of children who are due to start high school in September 2013 and who have not yet applied for a school place, should contact the school admissions service on 020 8825 5522 immediately as their application is now late.
