You could win cash and a perfect picnic for 15 people
A recent study has revealed that as many as two thirds of Britons hadn’t been on a picnic in the last five years, and almost one fifth had never been on one at all.
Now a leading holiday company is urging people to share their favourite UK picnic hotspots.
In a bid to hunt down the perfect location for a late summer picnic, the team at www.holidaycottages.co.uk is asking UK residents to tweet, Facebook or Instagram an image of their perfect picnic spot using the hashtag #HCPerfectPicnics.
Participants who don’t use any of these social media platforms also have the option to email a picture of their favourite destination to the team. Those entering are also asked to provide a reason why the location they share is their all-time favourite picnic location, with a cash prize of £250 for the winning entrant.
As an extra incentive for disclosing their favourite location, the lucky individual will also be the recipient of a catered picnic for up to 15 additional family members and friends attending, with all food and drink provided.
James Morris, Managing Director of holidaycottages.co.uk, made the following comment regarding the hunt for the UK’s Perfect Picnic spot:
“Enjoying a summer picnic with close family members and friends is a long-standing British tradition, but one that sadly seems to have waned in popularity over recent years. One of the main reasons many people we polled no longer go on picnics was because they felt there were no decent picnic spots in their local area. Through this new campaign, we want to show everybody, no matter where in the UK they live, that there are beautiful places to picnic on their doorsteps, and hopefully help them to fall in love with the tradition all over again!”
