A residents' parking zone in Ealing borough
November 14, 2023
Ealing Council has issued a warning to residents after it was made aware of bogus visitor parking permits being sold online.
It is advising people living in the borough that they risk buying invalid permits unless they do so through a PayByPhone account.
Ealing stopped issuing paper visitor parking vouchers in 2015 and any visitor permit must now be paid for and issued by a resident through their PayByPhone account.
These short stay permits are sold in periods of either one hour (80p) or one day (between £1.60 and £4.95 depending on the duration of restrictions in your CPZ. When booking visitor parking you are required to give the car registration and the duration of the visit.
The council says they may only be used by those visiting a property in vehicles under 1.83 metre in width and under 3 metres in height.
These permits are valid in parking spaces where the sign says "permit holders" may park. The CPZ in which you may use resident visitor permits is determined by your address.
Using a PayByPhone account, residents can apply for access to these permits by selecting "permits" from the options tab.
