Officers from Operation Trident are investigating a series of incidents
Two teenagers have been shot in the legs during a series of unusual gun incidents in Acton and Ealing on Tuesday night (21st June).
Police were called to The Drive in W3 at 11.10pm after reports of a gun being fired. A 16-year old boy was taken to hospitall suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He is believed to be in a stable condition.
At 11.20pm they were called to Copley Close in Hanwell and an 18 year-old man was taken to hospital again suffering from gunshot wounds to the legs. The injuries are described as non-life threatening. Two suspects are believed to have left the scene.
At the same time there was an incident in Gurnell Grove, W13, where shots were fired at a man outside a house. Nobody was injured.
Earlier in the evening three men kicked at the front door of a house on Bayham Road W13 before shooting at it. No-one was injured during this incident.
Borough Commander Andy Rowell said: 'As you will be aware we are investigating three separate firearms incidents which occurred last night (21/06/11). A fourth separate incident occurred yesterday morning (22/06/11). Operation Trident are currently conducting their enquiries into these incidents.
''We are keeping an open mind as to whether these are linked at this time and investigations are ongoing.
''I would, however, like to reinforce the message that whilst these incidents are indeed shocking, they are very rare. The borough remains committed to tackling gun crime and gun crime across the borough has significantly reduced over the last year. We will be conducting extra patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the local community, so if you have any concerns regarding these incidents please speak to your Safer Neighbourhoods Teams.''
