The Hunt is On For Ealing's Young Musicians

Chance to appear in front of thousands this summer

Ealing Council is searching for young budding musicians to perform at this year’s Ealing Summer Festival.
There are slots at the Blues, Global and Jazz music festivals for talented local musicians aged 18 and under to perform as part of the Young Musician’s Showcase.
The Showcase aims to discover local talent and give them an opportunity to perform in front of thousands of festival-goers.

Entries are open to individuals and groups and musicians from all genres are encouraged to enter.

Entries must be by demo tape, cd or music file, and must be received before 12 April 2010. The chosen performers will be notified by 23 April 2010.

Councillor Phil Taylor, Cabinet Member for Customer and Community Services, said:

“We launched the Young Musicians’ Showcase at the festivals last year and it was a huge success. There are a lot of talented young people in the borough and this is a great chance for them to perform in front of a big audience.”

Entries need to include:
1. A demo tape, cd or music files with no more than three songs, at least two of which must be original music
2. A biography of yourself (individual artist) or band/group; information such as where you live, what school you attend, and a bit about your music and your inspirations
3. The name of your band, or the name you are performing under (if individual artist)
4. The names and ages of all musicians involved in the tracks
5. Indicate what instruments are being used in each song and the name of who is playing them
6. A history of any previous performances, this may be at school or at gigs
