Gang Fight Closes Ealing Hospital A&E

Rival groups face off after man stabbed to death

Emergency services at the local hospital had to be suspended after a man was stabbed to death and another was seriously injured in what is believed to be a gang related incident.

Two police officers were also injured as they tried to intervene in a dispute involving friends and family of the dead man. A female police officer suffered a broken rib. The unit was closed for 6 hours on the 30th April.

The origins of the dispute seem to relate to an earlier attack on a man in Willow Tree Lane in Hayes. A twenty one year old man was found suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to Ealing Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

About 30 of the dead man's family came to the hospital at the same time as a 28 year old man who was suffering from stab wounds believed to have been sustained in the same incident. This resulted in a running battle between rival groups in the grounds of the hospital. After treatment the man was arrested under suspicion of murder.

Two other men aged 29 and 30 and two women aged 24 and 26 had also been arrested in connection with the killing.
