Couple deny murder of Chinese student

A couple have appeared in court accused of murdering a Chinese student whose headless body was found floating in the River Thames.


The body of Xing Xing Xie, 23, who had been in the UK for five years, was found in a laundry bag in the river at Rotherhithe, south London, in April. The head was recovered later in the river. Her hands are still missing.

Noor Azura Mohd-Yusoff, 22, of Ealing, and Trach Lon Gian, 26, Deptford, south London, pleaded not guilty to murder.

The pair were remanded in custody at the Old Bailey and will face trial on 7 July.
