A Call To Ealing's Local Hero

To the man who rescued lady's phone, pick up yours!

A public spirited local is being urged to get in contact with police after retrieved a mobile phone from a phone thief in Ealing Broadway.

The black man, believed to be in his 30s, leapt to the aid of a 30-year-old lady pushing her young child in a buggy, when her phone was snatched.

The incident took place as she walked along The Broadway in Ealing at 1.45pm last Thursday.

A white youth, aged between 16 and 18, came up behind the 30-year-old woman as she pushed her child's buggy outside Marks and Spencer and grabbed the phone.

As he ran away the quick thinking man gave chase and returned a short while later with the damaged phone which had been dropped by the thief.

This incident was not reported to police until Monday June 4 and police are keen to trace the man who retrieved the victim's phone as he is a key witness in identifying the suspect.

The suspect is described as 6ft tall and was wearing a dark coloured baseball cap and dark coloured long sleeved jacket.
