13 year old who lied about attack may face charges
The three males accused of raping a 13 year old girl from West Ealing have been released without charge as it was discovered that the allegation was false.
Police and the Crown Prosecution Service are now considering what action to take against the girl who they are describing as naive. A significant amount of police and court time was taken up in the investigation. If the girl was an adult then it is likely she would have served jail time for the offence. One of the youths she falsely accused has been in custody since April.
A police spokesperson said: "As with all ethical standards of police investigations appropriate action was taken immediately."
The girl had alleged that theattack took place on Monday 23rd April at at Tintern Court, Green Man Lane. She told police that she had met the youths on the way home from school and then was raped by a group of five.
