Ealing Man Dies In Hit And Run On Boston Road

Police urgently need witnesses to come forward

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal fail-to-stop collision in Ealing Borough on Saturday 31 March.

Police were called at approximately 7.40 in the evening to reports of a motorcycle in collision with a dark green car, on Boston Road, at the junction with Cardiff Road, W7. The green car made off northwards towards the Uxbridge Road.

The car - a green Renault Laguna Estate - left the scene prior to police arrival. It would have received extensive damage to its rear nearside.

The 28 year old male motorcyclist, Steven King, of West Ealing, was taken to New Ealing Hospital with multiple injuries. He was later transferred to Charing Cross Hospital where he subsequently died at 1.18pm on 2 April as a result of multiple head injuries.

An inquest was opened at Fulham Coroners Court on 3 April.

Officers from Alperton Traffic Garage are investigating the circumstances of the collision.

"We urgently need to speak to the driver of the green Renault Laguna estate so that we can confirm what happened," said Inspector Andrew Nelson of Alperton Traffic Garage.

"I appeal to the driver of this vehicle or anyone who knows who owns a green Laguna that has extensive damage to its rear passenger side to come forward.

"This collision occurred at just after 19.30 on Saturday evening. There must have been people
who were around at that time who witnessed the incident. We need to speak to all of these
people so that we can piece together what happened.

"Steven's family have been devastated by his death and it is important to them that we know
exactly what happened last Saturday and why the driver of the car failed to stop."
