Volunteers wanted to help force tackle crime
Ealing Police are looking for bright and enthusiastic people to join a team of volunteers helping to provide a better service to the community.
They say volunteers are drawn from the local community and help make a real difference to local policing. They take on a wide range of roles and receive a comprehensive training package.
Most volunteers currently assist in the station offices of Ealing, Acton and Southall Police Stations, but there are others assisting in Safer Neighbourhood Teams, Criminal Justice, Training and Resources Units.
If you’d like to find out more about volunteering for Ealing Police, call 020 8246 9456 or email ealingvolunteers@met.police.uk.
You must be over 18 and have lived in the UK for at least the last three years, as you will be required to undergo security checks.
The Met Volunteer Programme (MVP) provides volunteers to support the Metropolitan Police Service in making London the safest capital city in the world. It was established in 2001 with the aim of increasing contact between local communities and the police and actively supports Safer Neighbourhood teams to improve the service the Met gives to the public.
As of January 2007 there were 891 volunteers in the MVP. Ealing currently has 32 volunteers.
