Does Ealing Council do a a good, or bad job?

Three thousand residents (from a total of around 300,000) will be given the chance to answer that as the 2012 Residents’ Survey kicks off this weekend.

An independent research company, ICM Research, will be knocking on doors from Saturday, 22 September to Sunday, 11 November to find out how satisfied people are with the services the council provides. Residents will be randomly selected to take part, with the results used to help shape future decisions made by the council.

Councillor Julian Bell, leader of the council, said: “The Residents’ Survey is very important to help us understand what we’re doing right and what we can do better. We’re always working to improve our services and this is a great opportunity for residents to tell us what they think.”

To make sure the views accurately represent the borough, participants will also be asked personal information such as age and ethnicity. These details will be kept completely confidential and the council will only receive a summary report of the findings. Young people between 11 and 17 years may also be asked to take part.

The results of the survey will be published in January and will be available on the council’s website.
