Special Community Event for Ealing Residents


Get support with jobs, health, debt, housing and more

A special event offering information and advice on a raft of topics including health, debt, jobs, benefits and housing is being staged in Ealing – and open to all residents living in the borough.

Local housing association A2Dominion, which manages more than 3,100 homes in Ealing, is staging the Advice Plus event on Tuesday, October 27 at Victoria Hall at Ealing Town Hall, in New Broadway.

Residents are invited to drop-in between 1pm and 4pm.

Staff from A2Dominion’s benefits, shared ownership and housing services teams will be on hand, as well as representatives from a host of other organisations including:

· Ealing Community Network

· NHS Ealing

· Ealing Community and Voluntary Service

· Ealing Council’s community benefits team; adult learning team and family information service

· Borough councillors

· Housing associations including L & Q, Inquilab and Shepherds Bush Housing Association

· Ealing Homes

· Ealing Council's Housing Advice & Homelessness team

· Age Concern

· Ealing Centre for Independent Living

· Ealing Mediation Service

· Ealing and West London College

· Ealing One Stop Shop Jobs Network

· Work Directions

· Training and employment advice from Catalyst Housing Group, Thames Valley Housing

· Local police/Ealing Council’s Safer Neighbourhoods team

Simon Hall, A2Dominion’s Head of Community Development (London) said: “We want to encourage as many Ealing residents as possible to come along to this Advice Plus event – which is the first one we’ve ever staged in the borough.

“Working with our partners and other agencies, we will be able to offer help and support on a massive range of areas.

“As well as advice on jobs, finances, training and housing, we will be offering free health checks, advice for stopping smoking, and much more.”

Translators and a children’s corner to keep youngsters entertained will also available on the day.

The event is Ealing forms part of A2Dominion’s first ever Residents Week, running from October 26-31. The housing association is organising free community events, activities and training across areas in southern England, where it manages more than 30,000 homes.

From fundraisers, open days and road shows to money management workshops and Halloween-themed activities, staff are hoping there will be something for residents of all ages.

The week-long series of events will culminate with the A2Dominion Football Challenge at Reading Football Club’s training academy on October 31, when young residents from across A2Dominion’s north, south and London regions will take part in coaching and a five-a-side tournament.
