See the top two contenders' drawings on Saturday 28 February
Residents will get the chance to see the top two contender developers' plans for Green Man Lane estate this weekend.
From 10am to 4pm on Saturday the plans will be on show in the Jubilee Hall and Community Centre on the estate.
The final selection process is currently underway and a recommendation will be made to the Council's Cabinet in late March. Once the developer has been selected, there will be a period of consultation with a wide range of local stakeholders and organisations, including West Ealing Neighbours community group (WEN), before final plans are drawn up.
The Green Man Lane Estate was built in West Ealing in 1978. Despite work from residents to improve the estate, it has a reputation for anti-social behaviour, drug and alcohol-related behaviour and crime. In August 2007 a Council funded survey found that 59% of residents were dissatisfied with the estate as a place to live.
"The re-use and re-development of this large piece of this public land is a once-in-a-generation opportunity not only to re-house existing tenants in safe, appropriate housing but also to revitalise the centre of West Ealing," said WEN Vice-Chair Eric Leach.
