Public inquiry into footpaths may spell end of Dickens Yard plans

A PUBLIC inquiry is to be held into whether several footpaths across the Dickens Yard development site should be closed.

Ealing Council is holding the crucial debate to discuss whether paths should be removed to let building work go ahead.

If the inquiry finds the paths should be left open it could prevent any attempts to build on the site and hamper the bid by developers St George to build 20 new shop units and 698 new homes there.

There are five rights of way currently on the site which would have to be shut off before any building work can start.

The inquiry is being held in Ealing Town Hall on Tuesday, September 30 at 10am, and is being run by the Planning Inspectorate.
